Carol Kibble Pastel Artist
Carol Kibble
Wildlife & Portrait Artist.
Carol's pastel painting classes are being held at the Old Mill Gallery in March, April & May 2010
She grew up in South Wales and spent her childhood exploring the Welsh countryside and getting to know the wildlife therein. At an early age, she was never without a pencil and sketchpad and this habit has never left her.
When she married in the 1980's, she moved to Wiltshire. It is here that she developed her skills as an Artist, inspired by the wildlife literally on her own doorstep. She is fortunate to live in a cottage with a large garden backing onto open farmland. She is visited daily by a large number of bird species and frequently by squirrel, roe and muntjac deer, rabbits, badger and hedgehog. She is also close to the Wiltshire Downs, home to numerous species including one of her favourites, the hare. She is naturally drawn to her first love - British wildlife.
She still loves visiting her native Wales in particular the Brecon Beacons and the North Pembrokeshire coast; areas literally bursting with wildlife. To gather more painting material and to get close to more elusive species she frequents nature reserves and Bird of Prey Centres and family outings often double as field trips!
She has exhibited extensively in the West of England, South Wales, London, Tyne and Wear and also in Germany. Locally, is represented by the Gallery at Handel House, Devizes.
